Security guard directing traffic dead after being hit by SUV

A 52-year-old security guard was killed after he was hit by a speeding SUV in Dasmariñas, Cavite.

In a report by Mark Labaro on GMA Regional TV “Balitang Southern Tagalog,” the victim can be seen in the CCTV camera directing traffic in front of his workplace in Barangay Salawag.

Just a few moments later, the sudden arrival of an SUV can be seen, and it hits the security guard.

With the force of the impact, the victim was thrown a few meters. He was rushed to the hospital but did not survive.

The driver of the SUV is now in police custody, facing a complaint of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.

According to the report, efforts are still being made to obtain the statement of the driver of the SUV and relatives of the victim.

In June, a who was directing traffic in Mandaluyong City was also hit by an SUV.

The victim was identified as Christian Joseph Floralde. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. this Sunday at the intersection of Julio Vargas Avenue and St. Francis Street in Mandaluyong.

In the dashcam shot, guard Floralde can be seen stopping a white SUV, but instead of stopping, it hit him. Instead of getting off the SUV, the driver ran over the lying victim.

The case became controversial after the SUV’s driver refused to attend preliminary hearings and even had a press conference with the police.


More than P173M worth of shabu seized in QC

Authorities seized more than 25 kilos of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City this Wednesday morning.

In a report by James Agustin in Unang Balita, it was said that the buy-bust operation was conducted by the personnel of the District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) along FPJ Avenue.

The teabags reportedly contained up to 25.5 kilograms of shabu, and the teabags were hidden in a sack of rice.

It is estimated that the total value of the drugs will reach P173,400,000.

According to QCPD Director Police Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III, the suspect’s operation is large-scale, distributing drugs not only in Metro Manila but also in other provinces.

The report said the drug came from another country.
