“It has come to my attention that some unscrupulous individuals are using a notarial stamp with my name to run a scam selling properties in Taguig City. The signature therein is not mine,” Mayor Duterte, who is a lawyer, said in a statement.

“I do not practice law anymore. I am also not a notary public nor have I ever applied to be one,” she added.

Mayor Sara then urged the public to be vigilant in transacting with people who use her name in financial transactions.

Sara Duterte said “everything” in the post of Facebook page Duterte Guardians “was never mine — from the misspelled ‘Sarah’ to the glaring grammatical errors to the ridiculous syntax or to the whole idea of federalism.”

The mayor earlier opposed federalism as it could worsen areas with political dynasties.

She also said those who shared the post on her supposed support for federalism should be “ashamed of themselves for agreeing to become propagators of fake information apparently manufactured to peddle an agenda.”

“Any form of misinformation, any attempt to fool the public, any move to use me or any other person to push an agenda is a painful counterproductive measure that would only worsen the situation as it would never help the Duterte government win over the deadly virus,” she said in a statement.

The page Duterte Guardians has around 260,000 Facebook followers.
