Robredo wants evacuation centers for animals

On Sunday, vice president Leni Robredo recommended the establishment of evacuation centers for animals since some families were forced not to evacuate to take care of their pets or livestock during typhoons.

Typhoon Rolly made its third landfall over the vicinity of San Narciso in Quezon on Sunday noon. Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara reported four people died due to the typhoon.

The Vice President also urged local governments to ensure their people’s safety and continue coordinating with other concerned agencies such as the Department of Public Works and Public Highways (DPWH).

Meanwhile, #NasaanAngPangulo (Where is the President) topped the Philippines’ trends on Twitter as Super Typhoon Rolly hit the Bicol region.

President Rodrigo Duterte was a no show during the televised press briefing on the national government’s response and preparation for the super typhoon.

But according to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, Duterte is closely monitoring Typhoon Rolly in Davao.
