Robredo’s camp condemns fake sex video of Aika Robredo

The camp of 2022 presidential candidate and Vice President Leni Robredo has lashed out at the alleged online links regarding the “obscene” video of her daughter Aika Robredo – something that is not true.

Only Monday did such reports spread. Despite this, such links appearing on Google are empty.

“Links to an alleged sex video are circulating around the twitterverse. This is a malicious fabrication and we have reported it to the platforms concerned for matake-down,” said Barry Gutierrez, Robredo’s spokesperson.

“Our lawyers are studying our options for legal action.”

Gutierrez added that such an issue should be viewed as a disgusting and “disgusting” distraction now that the momentum of their camp is gaining momentum.

Robredo recently increased in surveys, while the number of people who attended their campaign rally in Pampanga this weekend reached 220,000.

“Ang mas malalim na goal ng ganitong tactic, ‘yung manggigil tayo at magwala sa social media. Para awayin natin ang mga tao at hindi tayo maka-convert,” said Gutierrez.

“Kaya nga ang tamang response dito: Hold the line tayo para sa pag-ibig. Be firm but kind sa pagtatama ng disinformation, kahit gaano ito kawalanghiya.”

Their camp hopes that those who spread such rumors will be held accountable, especially since it is an apparent crime.

Under Republic Act No. 9995 or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009, those who disseminate nude photos and videos without permission can be imprisoned for up to seven years and fined up to P500,000.

The #ProtecttheRobredos trended on Philippine Twitter.

According to Robredo, they will not give up on the issue and continue to work amid controversy.

“Best antidote to fake news is the TRUTH. Let us not lose focus,” the Vice President said.

“This was how I survived the last 6 years.”

Senatorial candidate Chel Diokno also slammed the insults against Aika Robredo, a sign that their enemies are “desperate.”

Despite this, Diokno did not mention who they suspected of spreading it.

In March, VP Leni said that her children, who were all women, namely Aika, Tricia, and Jillian, were receiving harassment.
