His suggestion is to give a higher tax to films and series that will be released in the country, which can be called “foreign teleserye tarification.”

The additional chargeable tax can be used for those working in the Filipino film industry.

Padilla also supported the provision of funds to the FDCP to restore old Filipino films.

He also supported the FDCP’s proposal to have its own building with a vault to prevent the films from being damaged.

FDCP chairman Tirso Cruz III said their target building to be built would last from 40 to 50 years, and the rent paid in the current building of P500,000 per month can be realigned to help the production and Filipino film, especially to young directors and scriptwriters.

Padilla also agreed to turn the places where Filipino movies were made into tourism.

Kung preserved or restored, walang pagtanda dito.

Meanwhile, Senator Jinggoy Estrada stated that he is considering putting a ban on Korean telenovelas in the country, emphasizing that Filipino productions should be pushed in their place.
