A taxi driver is now recovering after he was robbed and had his tongue cut out by two assailants in San Fernando, Cebu.
In Cristelle Alfanta’s video, which can be watched on GMA News Feed, her father Andres Alfanta can be seen trying to talk about what happened to her.
However, the victim could hardly understand what he was saying after the suspect cut out his tongue.
According to the taxi driver, he was intimidated by the suspects, who were allegedly big people.
Based on the post of Alfanta’s children, the suspects allegedly boarded a taxi from Banawa going San Fernando.
While on the trip, passengers stopped Alfanta at a farm, where he threatened to be shot and killed if he did not give his income to the suspect.
The suspects also allegedly forced his tongue out and then cut it off.
“Pagdating sa San Fernando, ninakawan siya, tinakot na babarilin. ‘Yung tatay ko nagmakaawa na huwag na lang siyang patayin,” said Lovely Alfanta, another child of the victim.

“Sabi nila (mga suspek), ‘Sige hindi ka namin papatayin. Ilabas mo ang dila mo.’ Pinutol nila ang dila,” she added.

(They (suspects) said, ‘All right, we won’t kill you. Stick out your tongue.’ So they cut out the tongue.)
The suspects stole the taxi driver’s P4,000 income during his entire day of driving.
Alfanta tried to drive to the hospital.
The victim is in good condition after the operation. Alfanta has four young children.
According to his eldest son, their father still worked even during the storm to provide for the family.
The victim’s family called for help with his treatment.
“Sana mahuli ang gumawa ng masama sa tatay ko para mabigyan din ng hustisya ang nangyari. Walang wala kami, nakuha nila lahat ng pera ng tatay ko,” said Lovely.
(I hope those who did terrible things to my father would be caught so that justice can also be done for what happened. We had nothing. They got all my dad’s money.)
