Rep. Teves one of the masterminds in Degamo slay – DOJ

Suspended Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr. is considered one of the masterminds in the killing of Governor Roel Degamo and eight others on March 4, 2023.

In a press conference yesterday, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said they are still looking for two of the three masterminds in the crime.

“They can be contacted. I think there is something on social media there. ‘The other one, someone texted me. I told you last week, Cong. Teves texted me. They are being considered as masterminds,” said the secretary.

He said the investigation they are doing is progressing.

Remulla also said that former Negros Oriental governor Pryde Henry Teves, the younger brother of the embattled congressman, may also be involved in Degamo's case following the raid on his sugar mill last weekend.

Several heavy weapons, ammunition, and were recovered from the 50-hectare compound of former governor Teves in Barangay Caranoche, town of Santa Catalina from Friday to Sunday.

Remulla said the suspects arrested in Degamo's case said they saw the making of the explosives found in the raid.
