Red Cross: No record of false positive results among PSG

The head of the Presidential Security Group, Col. Randolph Cabangbang, allegedly told the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) that they do not have a record of personnel who allegedly obtained false positive results from RT-PCR tests conducted by the PRC.

According to PRC secretary-general Elizabeth Zavalla, she wrote to Cabangbang on October 1 to request the list of names of personnel who obtained false positive results.

But in the response received from the PSG chief, the group guarding the President did not provide a list.

“Yesterday or the other day, they replied to me after I wrote them October 1. Ang sagot lang nila sa amin, ‘Ang PRC ay partner namin for more than a year, tinutulungan kami sa RT-PCR testing, wala po kaming file nitong mga pangalan na ito o iyong mga resulta’,” said Zavalla.

Zavalla also asserted that the emerging issues against the humanitarian organization were only caused by the disputes due to the presidency and CEO of the PRC, Senator Richard Gordon.

This includes the likely false positive results of 45 of the 48 RT-PCR swab tests conducted on health workers at Subic Baypointe Hospital.

Zavalla was also outraged by the alleged slanders in the newspaper and social media.

On October 13, the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) confirmed that the RT-PCR test conducted by the PRC was valid and reliable and that no evidence of contamination was found.
