Raymond Gutierrez came out as part of LGBTQ community

Actor and host Raymond Gutierrez introduced himself as part of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community in an interview with Mega Magazine released this August.

He is the well-known brother of actress Ruffa, actor Tonton and twin Richard. He is the son of celebrity personalities Eddie Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama.

“I’m here to formally say that I am a proud member of the LGBTQ community. And it feels great saying that publicly because I am,” said Raymond.

He added that those close to him have known this for a long time. He thanked them for their full acceptance of him.
“I am out to a lot of my close fcriends and I’m lucky that I have that support system around me to give me the confidence to really accept who I am and to love myself because not a lot of people have that?” Raymond Gutierrez added.

In a separate Instagram post, he also shared that he did not really deny his identity, he just made it public.

Growing up, he said it took him a while to accept who he really was – until it escalated into self-loathing because “society taught it wrong to be different,” especially for him growing up in front of the public.

“I went through a dark phase of self destruction — creating unhealthy habits to have some sort of escape so I didn’t have to face my reality. I kept things to myself because I was scared to bring shame to my family, and didn’t know how others would treat me,” Raymond Guitterez said.

“I want to encourage those who feel alone that it’s never too late to love yourself, acknowledge those feelings and face your fears — because it feels damn good to be on the other side.”

It was only January when Raymond Gutierrez created a stir after being criticized for holding a huge birthday party with other artists amid quarantine restrictions.
