Sen. Raffy Tulfo offers P1-M reward to catch suspect in Marinduque camping crime

Senator Raffy Tulfo offered a P1 million reward for the arrest of the suspect in the heinous crime that took place in Boac Marinduque last week. The victims are a couple camping on the beach.

In a statement Monday, Tulfo strongly condemned the crime that led to the death of the 21-year-old male victim. His 17-year-old girlfriend was injured, who was allegedly raped by the suspect.

The crime happened early Friday morning around 1:30 am in Barangay Ihatub in Boac.

Based on the police investigation, the suspect allegedly suddenly entered the couple’s tent and stabbed the man. The woman ran but was chased by the perpetrator.

When apprehended, he allegedly stabbed the girl and raped her. Before fleeing, the perpetrator stole some of the victims’ belongings and money.

Based on the SOCO investigation, the man received 10 stab wounds that killed him inside the tent.

The woman was stabbed nine times in the neck.

According to police, the perpetrator may have thought that the woman was dead, so he picked her up and returned her to the tent.

The Boac PNP is still investigating the identity of the culprit and has called for possible witnesses who can point out the culprit.

The motive for the crime is also being ascertained because, according to the police, apart from the lost items, the number of stab wounds inflicted by the two victims is also surprising.

“Walang konsensiya ang gumawa ng ganitong karumal-dumal at kalunos-lunos na krimen,” said Tulfo.

“Kaya ako po ay magbibigay ng P1 milyong pabuya sa ikadarakip ng suspek. Basta sigurado ako na talagang ang may sala ang madarakip at mapananagot,” he added.

(There is no conscience to commit such a heinous and pathetic crime. So I will give a P1 million reward for the arrest of the suspect. I’m just sure that the culprit will be caught and held accountable.)

The statement said that the senator’s office would only be provided with information that would help apprehend the culprit.
