Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte said Monday a resident tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

However, it was not immediately clear whether the patient is among the 10 COVID-19 cases in the country that the Department of Health confirmed so far.

The Quezon City government will discuss this development later Monday, said Mayor Joy Belmonte.

The mayor urged her constituents to refrain from panicking and consult a doctor if they feel unwell.
