QC companies can apply mass vaccination for employees

The Quezon City local government has invited companies in the city to apply for mass vaccination of their employees.

Among the guidelines here is that at least 100 employees should be vaccinated.

The medical team that will administer the vaccine from the LGU must also come from the company.

The company can choose the vaccination site and can also be in their office only.

But QC Task Force Vax to Normal co-chair Joseph Juico clarified that their City Health Department must first inspect whether the vaccination site selected by the company passes the standard.

Juico also clarified that every company in Quezon City could acquire their own vaccine as long as there is coordination with the LGU.

The LGU needs to know who handles the company’s logistics because even the disposal of syringes needs to be coordinated.

Without coordination with the LGU, they will also not be able to access the government system or database to obtain a vaccination passport.

Meanwhile, some entrepreneurs called for an increase in the number of customers for businesses with vaccinated staff.

For Resto.PH president Eric Teng, those who go to the restaurant will be reassured when the establishment employees are vaccinated.

“My interpretation is my employees are safe; therefore, sana, we can be allowed more capacity, so if we are 100 percent vaccinated, they can perhaps give us extra 10-20 percent seating capacity,” said Teng.

Meanwhile, presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion is pushing for the provision of additional capacity to establishments with “micro-herd immunity” once more than 80 percent of its staff are vaccinated.

The owner of Piandre Salon, Andrea Lorenzana, asked if it is possible to increase the number of customers who can be served because most of their staff and stylists have been vaccinated.

“Hopefully, we can increase our capacity, which will hopefully also increase our sales back to something more comfortable,” said Lorenzana.

As of July 7, 12,489,777 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered. Of the total, 9,399,801 were used in the first dose, while 3,089,976 received the second dose.
