The Malaysian national received a text message from the victim that the suspects demanded half a million in exchange for the release of her friend.

The police immediately responded where they found one of the suspects sitting in the hotel lobby.

Froilan Uy, chief of Pasay City Police Station.

“So inakyat nila ‘yung 4th floor, nakita nila ‘yung babaeng Chinese na nakaposas kaya inaresto na nila itong suspek natin kasama ‘yung kanyang kapatid,” added Uy.

It was confirmed that one suspect is a member of the District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) of the Southern Police District with the rank of Police Staff Sergeant while the accomplice wearing a camouflage shirt is his brother.

Confiscated from them was a gun, IDs, P14,000, and three cellular phones. A fake I.D. was also obtained from the arrested policeman using a different name.

The suspects who will face complaints of illegal detention, robbery extortion, violation of the Comprehensive Law of Firearms and Ammunition, Falsification of Public Document, and illegal use of PNP Uniform refused to give a statement.

An administrative complaint against the police suspect is also being prepared.
