PNP eliminates robbery as motive behind killing of Gwenn Salamida

Police have eliminated the holdup angle in the shooting and murder of Gwenn Salamida, the former editor of Remate Online, who was killed inside her Salon and Spa in Brgy. Apolonio Samson, Quezon City, on Tuesday afternoon.

This is after the police gathered a witness who confirmed that the victim and her partner Oliver Perona, 43, who is still being treated at the Quezon City General Hospital for gunshot wounds to the chin and chest, may have been intentionally killed.

At around 3:45 pm yesterday, the murder of Gwenn Salamida, 41, took place inside her newly built Gott Beauty Salon and Spa located at 191 Kaingin Road corner EDSA, Brgy. Apolonio Samson, Quezon City.

It appeared in the narrative of a Grab food delivery rider, who has not been named for its protection that no holdup occurred in the incident.

According to the delivery rider, he was delivering the food ordered by the victims when he was suddenly accompanied into the salon by a man armed with an unknown caliber gun and immediately shot the victims.

According to investigators, it is possible that the suspects have been waiting in the area for a long time, and they waited for the victims to open the establishment to commit the crime.

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief PGen Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar has also ordered QCPD Director PBGen Antonio Yarra to conduct a thorough investigation into the crime to bring the victims to justice and hold the perpetrators accountable.

It was learned that Gwenn Salamida was supposed to celebrate her birthday this Wednesday and would only dye her hair, so she went to the parlor.

He said the victims also took advantage parlor’s clean-up because they plan to reopen the business once the existing enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila ends tomorrow, August 20.
