Authorities found it challenging to deliver a report because there was no “signal” in the area, approximately 30 kilometers away from the town proper of Real.

The PNP national headquarters temporarily did not fly the H125 Airbus Police helicopters. At the same time, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, the Department of Transportation, and other agencies investigated the incident.

Lawyer shot dead in his office in Batangas

A lawyer running for councilor in Sto. Tomas City, Batangas, after he was shot in his office.

In a report by Andrew Bernardo on GMA Regional TV “Balitang Southern Tagalog” on Friday, the victim was identified as Atty. Reginald Michael Manito.

Two assailants shot Manito in his office in Barangay Poblacion this Thursday morning.

The victim’s mother said she did not know that her son had an enemy. She said the lawyer was kind and helpful, especially to the poor.

Authorities are still blank on the motive of the perpetrators in the murder of the victim.

Although running for councilor in the upcoming election, the victim’s mother does not believe that politics is why her son was killed.
