Philippines adds 8 countries to Red List

The Philippine government added eight places to the “red list,” effective from Thursday to the end of the year.

When a place is included in the red list, passengers from that area will not be allowed into the Philippines, except for Filipinos who return home via repatriation or Bayanihan flights.

These include Andorra, France, Monaco, the Northern Mariana Islands, Reunion, San Marino, South Africa, and Switzerland.

Vaccinated Filipinos coming from red list areas must present a negative  test taken at least 72 hours before flying to the Philippines.

They will first remain in facility-based quarantine until a negative  test taken on the 7th day of quarantine comes out. Then, they also have to go home quarantine until the 14th day.

The requirements are the same for those who have not been vaccinated or partially vaccinated, but on the 10th day, they will be tested for RT-PCR while in the quarantine facility.

Due to the increase in the number of returnees this holiday season, the IATF has shortened the facility-based quarantine for passengers from 41 places on the green list.

Instead of the 5th day, fully vaccinated Filipinos will take the RT-PCR test on the 3rd day of the facility-based quarantine.

Once negative, they can go home to continue home quarantine until the 10th day of arrival in the country.

If not vaccinated or partially vaccinated, you will need to wait until a negative RT-PCR test result is taken on the 7th day of facility-based quarantine.

After this, they have to go home quarantine until the 14th day.

The same policy will also apply to unvaccinated or partially vaccinated passengers from areas under the yellow list.

If fully vaccinated, the RT-PCR test will be taken on the 5th day of facility-based quarantine.

The passenger will also be allowed to return home if the result is negative to end the home quarantine until the 14th day.

The IATF has also authorized the use of returning Filipinos in isolation and quarantine facilities in Calabarzon and Central Luzon.
