The online release of the original Pinoy musical “Rak of Aegis” will continue.
The release of the said musical started last week and it will continue on August 7 and 8.
“Rak of Aegis” is a musical that features the songs of the famous band Aegis, while telling the story of Aileen, a woman who dreams of becoming a YouTube star.
Its cast includes Pepe Herrera, Aicelle Santos, and other respected actors in the theater. It also includes Poppert Bernadas as Kenny.
In Star Magic’s Inside News on Wednesday, Herrera and Bernadas shared their thoughts on the comeback of the popular musical.
“Grabe ang tuwa ko. Kasi alam ko kung gaano kasaya ang show namin. For me, perfect siya sa nangyayari ngayon sa ating mundo. Kasi ano ba naman ‘yung makapagbigay kami ng ngiti sa loob ng tatlong oras sa ating mga kababayan. Hindi lang dito sa Pilipinas kung hindi all over the world na. Kasi mapapanood niyo na siya all over the world,” said Bernadas.
“Alam niyo may pinagdadaanan ang ating bansa and ritgh now buong mundo na talaga. Sabi ko perfect na ipapalabas ang ‘Rak of Aegis.’ Kasi for me ang takeaway natin dito ay alam mo ‘yon very Pinoy na ang dami nating problema sa buhay, problema sa pera, problema sa love life, problema sa community.”

“Pero tayong mga Pinoy nakukuha pa rin nating ngumiti at napagtatagumpayan natin ang lahat ‘pag tayo ay nagsama-sama, ‘pag tayo ay nagtutulungan. For me makakamit natin ang kaginhawahan. After watching ‘Rak of Aegis’ ‘yon ang takeaway ng audience namin,” Bernadas added.
For Herrera, too, it’s a different joy to have “Rak of Aegis” back.
“Of course I was joyful and excited kasi it’s about time. Mangilan-ngilan na rin ang musical na ipinalabas nitong pandemic and we are very happy that finally ‘Rak of Aegis’ is included in that roaster of musicals being shown online during pandemic,” said Herrera.
“Filipino musicals are wonderful. And at the same time Filipino resiliency. There’s so much story to tell pagdating sa mga kuwentong Pinoy. And, there’s so much music to share pagdating sa OPM,” he added.
