Persons of interest in killing of model Yvonne Plaza determined

The police have formed a Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) to solve the murder of businessman and model Yvonne or Yvonne Plaza. A riding in tandem shot the victim at close range outside the house where he was staying in Davao City last week.

It is said that Yvonne Plaza had just gotten out of his SUV and went to the gate when the riding in tandem arrived. The rider got down and shot the victim at close range, who was killed immediately.

The assailants, both wearing full-faced helmets, escaped.

According to Police Colonel Alberto Lupaz, Director Davao City Police Office, they are already looking at persons of interest, but they cannot give details yet.

It is said that they are continuing to conduct an in-depth investigation into the case and are gathering witnesses and evidence.

According to the report, among the motives that investigators are looking into are personal feuds, work or business, and theft.

Investigators are also investigating if there is any basis for what is appearing on social media about a high-ranking official linked to Yvonne Plaza with whom she allegedly had a previous relationship.

According to Police Major Eudisan Gultiano, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office 11, the formed SITG has two weeks to identify crime suspects and file charges.

“Na-consider na natin siyang sensational [case]. Nagkaroon na ng public scrutiny, makikita natin ‘yan sa mga social media posting. Yung iba, marami nang speculations,” said Gultiano.

“The SITG is given up to two weeks to identify or to file the appropriate charges against the suspects,” he added.

The police called on anyone who knew about the crime to inform them that the case could be solved quickly.
