A female pawnshop manager Bonna Ambay was discovered dead with several stab wounds in Kalibo, Aklan, yesterday morning.
The only 23-years-old victim was discovered dead at the RD Pawnshop on Mabini Street in Barangay Poblacion at 9 a.m.
The shop’s security guard informed the police that the shop’s roll-up door was still locked, and the secondary gate was open when he arrived. Nevertheless, he sensed something was amiss.
When he entered the pawnshop, he noticed Ambay bloodied on the floor.
Investigators discovered a pair of black shoes, handcuffs, a towel, a coin purse, a handbag, and a knife at the crime scene.
They also discovered a security guard uniform labeled Torrefiel MA.
Police have not determined whether the owner of the clothing, Mark Archie Torrefiel, 31, is the murderer.
According to a pawnshop official, the shop’s vault was complete, and nothing was missing.
Meanwhile, the Kalibo MPs revealed in a recent Facebook post that incoming Kalibo Mayor Juris Sucro had offered a reward for the immediate capture of the suspect in the horrible shooting of Bonna Ambay, the branch manager of RD Pawnshop on Mabini St. in Kalibo.

Ambay was discovered dead inside the pawnshop by her coworkers at roughly 7:30 a.m. yesterday, June 6, 2022.
Mayor-elect Juris Sucro has offered a reward of P30,000.00 to anyone who can provide information on the whereabouts of Security Guard Mark Archie Torrefiel.
Police investigations identified SG Torrefiel as the primary suspect in Ambay’s death.
Mayor Sucro hopes that the prize will result in the suspect’s immediate capture.
According to neighbors, the suspect went to Manila with his family on June 5, 2022, at midnight through 2GO, although this information has yet to be validated.
Meanwhile, the Kalibo PNP clarified that Bonna Hercia’s clothing was not up when she was found lying down and bathing in her blood inside the RD Pawnshop yesterday, contrary to the spread of photos and speculation on social media.
According to the Kalibo PNP, the victim’s clothes were lifted to inspect the body at the Press Conference held today, Tuesday, June 7.
