PAGASA weather forecast today. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) monitor a low-pressure area east of the Bicol region as it may strengthen into a tropical cyclone, which may hit Northern Luzon this week.
According to PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja, he LPA entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility around 6 a.m. today. It was estimated 1,100 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes, before Monday noon.
PAGASA said the cyclone will likely develop into a tropical depression by Wednesday and will be named “Ramon.” “Ramon” will be the tropical second cyclone of November following “Quiel” and 18th this 2019.
Estareja also said that if the cyclone maintains its current track, it will make landfall over Northern Luzon towards the end of the week.
As of now, Estareja said, the LPA’s trough or extension has started to pour light to moderate rains in Aurora, Quezon, Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Masbate, Sorsogon, Biliran, Eastern Samar, Leyte, Northern Samar, Samar, Southern Leyte, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will continue to experience fair weather in the morning with chances of rain showers due to thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.
Estareja said, however, more areas in Luzon and Visayas could expect more rains in the next days as the cyclone moves closer.
