PAGASA: LPA may enter PH tonight or tomorrow morning

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said a low pressure area (LPA) could enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility may enter tonight of early Friday morning.

Pagasa weather specialist Ariel Rojas said the LPA was last located 1,275 kilometers east southeast of Davao City during a 4 am weather update.

“Mababa ang tsansa sa kasalukuyan na ang LPA na ito ay maging isang bagyo. Ito po ay kikilos pa-hilaganag kanluran at posibleng lumapit sa kalupaan ng Mindanao,” he said.

(There is a low chance this LPA would develop into a storm. It will move northwest and may go near Mindanao.)

Meanwhile, Ilocos, Bicol, and Cagayan Valley regions will experience generally fair weather with a low chance of rain today, May 7.

Rojas said the rest of Luzon may experience rains in the afternoon or evening due to localized thunderstorms.

Visayas and Mindanao meanwhile will have hot and humid weather with localized thunderstorms possibly occurring in the afternoon and evening.

Pagasa did not raise any gale warning today.

“Banayad hanggang sa katatamtaman ang magiging condition ng ating karagatan [The coastal water condition will be light to moderate],” said Rojas.
