The other faction of PDP-Laban slammed Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi’s to endorse President Rodrigo DUterte, saying it was just a plan actually to present Sara as the party’s candidate in 2022.
“[T]he grassroots members of the party believe that the Go-Duterte tandem is merely a smokescreen/distraction for their real candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte,” according to the other faction the party comprising Sen. Manny Pacquiao, former president of PDP-Laban.
“It’s very impossible that the right hand of the President will go against his boss’ daughter. This tandem is merely a distraction to shield their “real” candidate from poltical attacks & to weaken the PDP Laban with this decoy candidacy.”
It is ironic that the PDP-Laban was established as resistance to tyranny, dictatorship, and single-family political rule but is already being used in this way to extend its power further.
Pacquiao’s camp also slammed the Cusi wing’s nomination of five senatorial personalities even though they are not even members of the PDP-Laban.

Meanwhile, Ariel Casilao, national president ng Anakpawis party-list, said, “Whether it is ‘Don Juancho dela Cruz – Rodrigo Duterte’ or ‘Sara – Digong’ tandem, it is still the same #DutertePalpak and #DuterteKorap brand of traditional politics the Filipino people have been opposing.”
“It falls perfectly on the old Duterte’s plan to protect himself from accountability on the ICC charges and by the Filipino people. We should all rise up against this archaic evil plan. Moreover, we should not fall as victims to this latest ‘squid tactics’ to veer our focus away from the COA’s flagging of budget irregularities and continue holding him responsible for his socio-economic crimes against the people.”
