Over 2.2 million people affected by TD Agaton

According to the NDRRMC study, Agaton afflicted 2,268,753 persons or 650,454 families in 2,670 barangays in Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, Soccsksargen, Caraga, and Bangsamoro.

In evacuation facilities, a total of 16,917 people, or 7,352 families, are still staying.

On the other hand, 60,215 displaced people, or 78,179 families, remained outside evacuation facilities.

Agaton caused damage to 16,382 homes, with 14,124 partially damaged and 2,258 completely destroyed, according to the NDRRMC.

One hundred ninety-six classes and 139 work schedules were canceled due to the storm.

A total of 61 cities and municipalities have been declared disaster areas.

Meanwhile, the death toll from Storm Agaton had risen to 212, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) As of Sunday morning.

According to the NDRRMC, 186 people died in Eastern Visayas, 21 in Western Visayas, three in Davao Region, and two in Central Visayas.

One hundred eleven of the claimed deaths have already been confirmed. According to the NDRRMC, 94 were from Eastern Visayas and 17 from Western Visayas.

A total of 132 people have gone missing, with 130 from Eastern Visayas and one from Western Visayas and Davao Region.

NDRRMC confirmed two cases out of the 132 reported missing from the Eastern Visayas and Davao Regions.

Furthermore, four persons from Soccsksargen, two from Northern Mindanao, and one each from Central Visayas and Davao Region were among the eight people injured.

Six people have been injured, according to the NDRRMC, four in Soccsksargen and two in Northern Mindanao.

Meanwhile, the NDRRMC said that the total estimated agricultural damage in Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Soccsksargen, and Bangsamoro is P1,332,566,948.54.

Damage to infrastructure in Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and Bangsamoro is estimated at P6,950,000 by the NDRRMC.

In Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, and Caraga, 57 highways and eight bridges became inaccessible.

On the other hand, motorists have access to 251 routes and eight previously impassable bridges.

A total of 76 cities and municipalities were affected by the outage, although power has since been restored in 12 of them.

Water supply interruptions or outages were also reported in three cities and municipalities. So yet, none of these areas have had their water supply restored, according to the NDRRMC.
