Nova Princess Parojinog will be transferred to Taguig City Jail after quarantine

Former Ozamis City vice mayor Nova Princess Parojinog-Echavez was brought to the Payatas Quarantine Facility on Wednesday to undergo quarantine before being transferred to Taguig City Jail.

Parojinog-Echavez was arrested on July 30, 2017, for allegedly taking possession of unlicensed firearms by his family and also for being involved in the sale of illegal drugs.

Nova’s parents were killed in a police operation that day, but he was arrested along with siblings Reynaldo Parojinog Jr. and Ricardo Parojinog.

Nova was detained at Camp Crame, and according to Jail Insp. Midzfar Omar, the court on Wednesday, issued a commitment order to be transferred to Quezon City Jail.

As part of the protocol, before being transferred to the BJMP jail facility, an inmate must first undergo a 14 -day quarantine, so Nova was taken to the Payatas quarantine facility.

But Omar added that the court issued another commitment order this afternoon stating that Nova Princess Parojinog will be transferred to Taguig City Jail.

There is also a quarantine facility in Taguig for inmates who need to be taken there. Still, since Nova has already been taken to Payatas, he will be quarantined there and transferred to Taguig City Jail.

The BJMP NCR ensured that Nova was safe and in good condition at the Payatas quarantine facility and monitored by jail officers.

BJMP NCR will hold a management conference, and they will discuss the quarantine and transfer of Nova to the Taguig City jail.

In October 2020, the PNP Custodial Service Unit chief was relieved after being accused of sexually assaulting detainee Nova Princess Parojinog.

In a phone interview, Police Colonel Ysmael Yu said that they identified the accused PNP official as Police Lieutenant Colonel Jigger Noceda.

The PNP Women and Children Protection Center filed a criminal complaint against Noceda at the  Prosecutor’s Office. Parojinog accused the cop of rape, acts of lasciviousness, unjust vexation, and a violation of the Safe Spaces Act.

According to Parojinog’s testimony, as filed with the  Prosecutor’s Office, the sexual assault occurred twice.
