It was held at the Recto Avenue corner Juan Luna Street for those working at Divisoria, including fully vaccinated shippers, pageants, market vendors, and vendors.

According to Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso, this is to immediately give a booster shot to the workers after or before they start work.

“Mayroon pa tayong resources, mayroon pa tayong bakuna. We are trying to extend to protect as many as possible, specially sa sektor na nagbibigay sa atin ng kasiguraduhan na may machichicha tayo,” the mayor said.

“This will serve almost 500 individuals dito sa Recto alone. Puwede matapos ngayon iyon or puwede ulitin bukas o sa ibang araw hangga’t mayroon gustong magpa-booster para hindi sila makakalat ng impeksyon.”

The mayor also ensured that there was enough supply for the booster shot because most Manila residents have already received the first and second doses of the vaccine.

A booster shot vaccination will also be held on Thursday, January 6, at Kartila ng Katipunan in Lawton for delivery riders.

Manila Vice-Mayor Honey Lacuna assured that there are still enough facilities in the city’s hospitals for those who test positive for COVID-19.

“Mabilis naman ang turnover ng mga pasyente natin kasi puro mild nga po sila, naa-accomodate pa rin naman po natin yung mga pasyente natin, in fact sa COVID-19 hospital po, may mga bakanteng beds na naman kasi nakapagpauwi na po tayo ng mga pasyente,” said Lacuna.

Moreno also ensured that there is an adequate supply of medicine in the city, such as Molnupiravir, Remdesivir, Baricitinib, and Tocilizumab for those in need.

The mayor also again urged everyone to get vaccinated.

Last week, mayors in Metro Manila had agreed to implement a stay-at-home policy for unvaccinated persons amid the continuous increase of COVID-19 infections in the capital region.

Minors would not be allowed to go out of their house except for  trips such as buying food, basic goods, services, and work.

According to Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Benhur Abalos, the unvaccinated will not enter malls, restaurants, and public transport for as long as the region remains under Alert Level 3.
