Nexgreen Enterprise commits violations – Valenzuela LGU

It turned out that Nexgreen Enterprise, the company that reportedly gave wage coins to their factory worker in Valenzuela City had other violations of workers’ rights.

It was reported that 5 and 10 cent coins were paid to Russel Mañoza, which later led to an investigation by the local government and the Department of Labor and Employment. As a result, the equivalent of two days’ wages was obtained, amounting to P1,056.

Mañoza insisted that the factory retaliated after they complained to the barangay about the alleged improper payment.

The Valenzuela City Hall hearing revealed that Mañoza’s company, Nexgreen Enterprises, had other violations such as non-payment of overtime and non-distribution of benefits such as SSS, Pag-IBIG, and PhilHealth.

The LGU has also suspended the factory’s business permit and given 15 days to address the complaints.

“In light thereof, you being responsible officer of the above-named business enterprise, are hereby directed to rectify all the noted violations within 24  from receipt hereof. Otherwise, we will have no recourse but to have the issued Business Permit in favor of the above-named business establishment suspended or revoked or not renew, as may be warranted under the applicable law, Ordinance, rules, and regulations,” Valenzuela City Mayor Rex  said.

The company admitted that they have shortcomings in their workers.

But the factory also apologized to the city hall and the worker. Despite this, Mañoza is not convinced that it was just an accident.

“‘Di po sana tayo aabot sa ganito kung binayaran niyo ako noong Sabado nang maayos, kasi ako bumalik naman ako nang maayos, sana pinasahod niyo ako nang maayos, at sana maayos ang trato niyo sa mga empleyado niyo,” the factory worker said.

In the city hall’s account, the company must pay up to P55,000 to Mañosa, including its overtime and night differential.

Company owners may also face criminal charges for allegedly violating workers’ rights.

The Valenzuela local government had earlier said they would help Mañosa find a job.
