Movies to be screened at reopening of cinemas

The Cinema Exhibitors Association of the Philippines (CEAP) announced that on November 10, the reopening of its member theater chains in areas under Alert Level 3, such as Metro Manila.

First to be shown for viewers is the futuristic Hollywood movie “Dune,” the sequel to “A Quiet Place,” and Princess Diana’s story “Spencer.”

The release of Marvel movies “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” and “The Eternals,” “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” James Bond movie “No Time To Die,” and the thriller “Last Night in Soho. ”

Among the first to announce their opening was the Power Plant Mall in Makati, which has a 1-seat-apart design of their cinema.

Megaworld cinemas will also open in Eastwood, Lucky Chinatown, Newport and Uptown Cinemas, and Venice Cineplex.

Robinsons Movieworld, Greenhills Cinema Chain, Gateway, and Ali Mall in Quezon City will also operate.

The management of the cinemas has ensured that they prioritize the safety of the spectators and will follow all safety protocols such as 1-seat-apart and no food inside the cinema.

Although there is still a box office, everyone is encouraged to buy movie tickets online.

SM and Ayala Malls are finalizing when they will open the cinema.

Aside from Hollywood films, Viva Entertainment announced that they will also release before Christmas the comeback movie by Claudine Barretto and Mark Anthony Fernandez, “Deception.”

Viva is also studying the correct playdate for “Real Life Fiction,” the new suspense drama by Piolo Pascual and Jasmine Curtis directed by Paul Soriano.

It will also be able to release, according to CEAP, “Kunwari Mahal Kita” by Joseph Marco and Ryza Cenon, and the award-winning international movie “Kun Maupay Man It Panahon” by Daniel Padilla and Charo Santos.

CEAP is thankful for the reopening of cinemas for the benefit of many workers in the movie industry who have lost their jobs in the past one and a half years due to the pandemic.
