A mother died protecting her baby in a tragic accident in Aniban Road, Barangay Aniban 3, Bacoor City, Cavite. The baby’s father was in critical condition.
The mother, Rose Ann Deliz, 25, did not make it to the St. Dominic Hospital alive due to severe injuries in her body. Her live-in partner Kevin Jules Dela Cruz, 27, an online seller, was in critical condition at Philippine General Hospital while their one-year-old child survived. The family lives in Bagong Silang, Brgy. Queens row East, Bacoor City, Cavite.
Bacoor City Police arrested the driver of the jeepney, Elmer Anay, 62, of Pulong Mabilog, Brgy. Molino IV, Bacoor City, Cavite.
According to the report of PSSg Edison Fetalculin of the Bacoor City Police station, the accident occurred at 5.30 pm yesterday.
Kevin was driving a Honda Beat motorcycle with his live-in partner and child at the back ride. The family was from Zapote Road while the suspect was driving a jeepney in the opposite direction. When they reached the curb, the victim attempted to overtake a tricycle.
The motorcycle hit a part of the tricycle, and the jeepney came in, causing the two vehicles to have a head-on collision.
It was learned that the mother embraced her baby to protect the child when they were thrown in the air because of the collision’s impact.
