Mother addicted to online sabong gives baby away for money

A mother is appealing for the return of her baby, whom she gave away in exchange for P45,000. According to the husband, his wife is in debt after engaging in online sabong cockfighting.

“Nagkausap po kami sa online po, sa group po ng bahay ampunan. Tapos doon po nag-comment po siya, nag-PM po sa akin. Nag-offer po siya ng P20,000. Tapos meron pa po akong ibang kausap sinabi ko rin po sa kaniya na may kausap din po akong iba may nag-o-offer po na mas malaki,” she said in a local online news Pasig News Today.

According to Concepcion, there is a proper process or legal way to adopt and adopt a child.

Under the law, those involved in child trafficking can be jailed for life and fined P2 to P5 million.

The adoptee and adoptive are also legally liable if the process is done without due process.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said they were already investigating the incident.
