Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla confirmed that the body of the missing prisoner or person deprived of liberty (PDL) at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) was dismembered and placed in a septic tank.
This Wednesday, Remulla said that it was July 15, 2023, when PDL was reported missing.
“‘The missing PDL has been found. Dead, decapitated. That’s the status of the missing PDL. And there will be other revelations in the next few days,” said Remulla.
According to the secretary, the incident is related to the killing allegedly happening in Bilibid even before BuCor chief Director General Gerald Catapang took office.
However, Remulla could not yet say who was the possible mastermind behind the massacre.
“Sketchy pa lahat. Everything is still in the exploratory stage and we’re still trying to find out. Trying to get the bottom of everything,” the secretary said.
Remulla expects to get a comprehensive report from Catapang this Wednesday.
On the other hand, BuCor deputy director for operations Angie Bautista said that the K9 units from the Philippine Coast Guard determined the location of the body of the missing PDL this Tuesday.

“So, ngayong araw po na ito kung ano po yung naamoy ng aso, ‘yan po yung ilalabas natin po mula doon sa septic tank,” according to Bautista in an interview with Super Radyo dzBB.
According to Bautista, the body was allegedly dismembered.
It will also be investigated if the information they received is correct that there may be other remains placed in said poso negro.
The septic tank will be drained to find out if there are other human remains inside.
After the location of the body of the missing PDL was identified, there was a disturbance among the Batang City Jail and Bahala Na Gang members this Tuesday night, which led to the shooting.
Nine PDLs were injured and taken to the hospital.
This was followed by a stabbing incident in which a PDL was killed. But the authorities still know it is connected to the previous chaos incident.
