“Hindi ako makapagfile ng income tax kasi naka-exile kami. Nasa exile kami, iyon ang sinasabi ko. Hindi kami makapagfile kasi nasa Amerika ako hindi ako pinauuwi,” Marcos said in an interview with DZRH on Tuesday afternoon.

(I can’t file income tax because we are in exile. We’re in exile, that’s what I’m saying. We can’t file because I’m in America, and I’m not being sent home.)

“Wala akong pagkakataon na makpagfile, at another thing, wala akong income,” he added.

It will be recalled that there are still pending petitions with the Commission on Elections against the candidacy of Marcos Jr., where the petitioners allegedly use his non-filing and non-payment of taxes to disqualify him from the presidential race.

Meanwhile, Bongbong said that if there is a mistake former president Ferdinand Marcos as the country’s former president has made, that is trusting the wrong people.

This was his answer when asked in an interview with DZRH this Tuesday afternoon about what he thinks he should correct that his father is wrong.

“Bilang pangulo ang kanyang pagkakamali? PInagkatiwaalan niya ang taong hindi niya dapat pagkatiwalaan. Iyan ang nagtraydor sa kanya. Pero iyon talaga ang ugali niya, he trusted people that he found out after 1986 na hindi pala niya tunay kaibigan. So doon talaga, diyan ako magiingat kung sakali mang ako ay mahalal,” said Marcos Jr.

(As president, his mistake? He trusted the person he should not trust. That’s what betrayed him. But that’s really his habit. He trusted people that he found out after 1986 that he wasn’t really friends with. So there really, there I will be careful in case I get elected.)

He admitted that he wanted to emulate his father’s leadership style.
