President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said that former President Rodrigo Duterte may have been affected by the drug fentanyl he is taking, which is said to have severe “side effects.”
“I think it’s the fentanyl,” Marcos responded when asked for a comment regarding Duterte’s allegation against him that he is “bangag (under the influence)” and is on the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) list.
“It is highly addictive and it has very serious side effects. And PRRD [Duterte] has been taking the drug for a very long time now. When was the last time he told us that he was taking fentanyl? About (Around) five, six years ago? Something like that. After five, six years it has to affect him,” Marcos told reporters this Monday before he left for Vietnam for a state visit.
Marcos hopes that the doctors will take care of Duterte.
“Kaya palagay ko kaya nagkakaganyan. I hope his doctors take better care of him, hindi pinapabayaan itong mga nagiging problema,” Marcos said that it was not directly explained what are the adverse effects of long-term consumption of fentanyl.
Pres. Marcos believes Duterte experiencing fentanyl side effects
When Marcos was asked directly about Duterte’s allegation that he uses illegal drugs, the Chief Executive laughed and replied, “I won’t even dignify the question.”
This Monday, the PDEA also issued a statement to refute Duterte’s allegation that Marcos is on their drug watch list.
In the gathering against the People’s Initiative as a way of Charter change in Davao City this Sunday, Duterte said that the Marcoses want to stay in power for a long time and called the president “bangag.”
“Nung ako mayor, pinakitaan ako ng evidence ng PDEA. Doon sa listahan, nandoon yung pangalan mo,” he said, referring to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency. “Ayaw kong sabihin ‘yan kasi magkaibigan tayo. Kung ‘di man magkaibigan, magkakilala. Eh ikaw eh, pumapasok kayo nang alanganin. Mr. President, baka susunod ka sa dinaanan ng tatay mo. Diyan ako takot. Ayaw ko mangyari sa iyo ‘yan. Ako lang nagmamakaawa kasi it will divide the nation at madugo itong panahong ito,” former president Duterte said.
