Authorities detained the perpetrator in the rape of two juveniles and maybe 25 additional victims he lured online.
Alexander Yu, the suspect, was apprehended during a police operation in Novaliches, Quezon City, on Monday afternoon.
He allegedly raped two juveniles and an 18-year-old victim, according to the police.
According to the authorities, the suspect used phony profiles to search for victims on social media networks.
“Kunwari ipapakilala niya roon kay Alexander na ‘yun pala siya ang may ari ng account. And then pag nagkita na sila ‘yun na dun na hahalayin at nanakawan ang biktima,” Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Remus Medina said.
The suspect was found with at least 60 SIM cards, memory cards, and a cellphone.
Authorities say they discovered multiple nude images on the suspect’s phone and that he may have harassed more people.
“Sila po nagkuha sa sarili nila tapos sinesend nila sa Facebook,” Yu said.

Based on the preliminary investigation, at least 25 people were confirmed victims of the suspects. However, the QCPD believes there could be more victims based on the amount of SIM cards collected.
“Kaya nanawagan ako ngayon sa mga posibleng naging nabiktima ng taong ito para masampahan natin,” Medina said.
(I appealed to the victims of the suspect to report so that we could file charges against him.)
“’Yun lang po talaga. 25 lang po. Yung iba cellphone lang po talaga hindi kasama yung babae,” Yu said.
(There are only 25 victims, the others were only through messages on the cellphone.)
The suspect denied the allegations against him.
“Sila po yung nagchachat sa akin kasi may mga group chat po sila ng mga ano naghahanap ng pagkakaperahan. Ang pakilala po kasi nila sa akin yung isa 21, yung isa mag-19,” Yu said.

The suspect will face rape, child abuse, and robbery complaints.
