“Sa ngayon may konting pagtaas na tayo napapansin so kaya mas naghihigpit tayo at mas inuunahan natin mag-swab ng mas marami. ‘Di natin kakayanin pag maramihan na so habang kaunti pa lang kaso, ngayon inuunahan namin na i-swab,” said Makati City Health Department Assistant Head Dr. Roland Unson.

Makati LGU has also tightened compliance with health and safety protocols.

The implementation of granular lockdown in some areas to prevent contamination is being studied.

The curfew was again enforced from 10 pm to 4 am.

Meanwhile, Taguig City has also intensified free testing in preparation for the Delta variant.

There is free RT-PCR testing at barangay health centers from Monday to Friday, in addition to regular drive-thru testing every Wednesday in Bonifacio Global City and Friday in Lakeshore.

There is also a Park-and-test at a mall every Monday from 1 pm to 3 pm, and their testing truck is constantly going around.

OCTA Research recently noted that Metro Manila is experiencing a pre-surge of COVID-19 cases. This is something that the Department of Health has denied.

“If next week nag-increase pa ‘yung number and if more than 1k average cases kasi ngayon were around 900 cases ang average ng . Pag lumampas na tayong 1,200 to 1,500 it’s going to be critical an, and we really have to put a hard stop to it,” said OCTA Research fellow Guido David.

However, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said, “‘Wag na muna natin gamitin ang surge. Kasi meron ‘yang definition sa epidemiology which is not yet happening right now. Tumataas ang kaso. That we can verify.”
