“Queen of Pop” Madonna revealed Thursday she had new coronavirus or COVID-19 but clarified she is no longer “currently sick.”
In an Instagram post, the 61-year-old iconic pop star shared that she must have caught the virus during a concert tour seven weeks ago.
“And just to clear things up for people who would rather believe sensationalist headlines than do their own research about the nature of this virus—I am not currently sick,” she said.
“When you test positive for anti-bodies it means you had the virus, which I clearly did as I was sick at the end of my tour in Paris over seven weeks ago along with many other artists in my show,” she added.
“We all thought we had a very bad flu. Thank God we are all healthy and well now. Hope that clears things up for the band wagon jumpers!! Knowledge is Power!” the star said.
Madonna had earlier revealed that she took a COVID-19 test, and after finding out she was positive, decided she was going to “go for a long drive in the car, I’m gonna roll down the window… and I’m going to breathe in the COVID-19 air.”
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said those at greatest risk of COVID-19 infection are “persons who have had prolonged, unprotected close contact with a patient with symptomatic, confirmed COVID-19 and those who live in or have recently been to areas with sustained transmission.”

The “Like a Virgin” hit singer was among 200 artists and scientists who signed an open letter Wednesday calling for radical change across the world rather than “a return to normal” after the coronavirus lockdowns.
Other Hollywood stars Cate Blanchett, Jane Fonda, and Marion Cotillard and Nobel Prize winners also joined the call to end to consumerism and start a “radical transformation” of economies to help save the planet.
“The ongoing ecological catastrophe is a meta-crisis,” the open letter said.
“Unlike a pandemic… a global ecological collapse will have immeasurable consequences,” it added.
Madonna also shared she is one of those who helped $8 billion toward the development of a COVID-19 vaccine saying, “Im Grateful that I can be a part of supporting Research to Find the cure for Covid -19!!”
The singer herself had pledged $1.1 million for the project.
