Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police is ready to provide security at the start of the filing of the certificate of candidacy nationwide.

The PNP will deploy up to 3,000 policemen in the National Capital Region, including more than 400 personnel stationed in a tent at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza in Pasay City.

“Handang-handa na ang ating PNP. Dati na tayong nagkaroon ng mga prior coordination with concerned agencies,” said PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar.

Some of the things the police have prepared are “possible shooting incidents, bomb threats, altercation of supporters and unintended baggage,” he said.

The Special Action Force was also alerted for immediate deployment if there was a problem.

Eleazar, on the other hand, said that the police officers to be assigned to the COC filing have been vaccinated and are negative for COVID-19.
