Lacson, Gordon answer Duterte’s insults

Senator Ping Lacson and Richard Gordon were insulted by President Rodrigo Duterte after he opposed the Senate’s ongoing investigation into the allegedly anomalous purchase of PPEs in 2020.

But the senators did not miss it, and they answered Duterte’s insults.

Duterte said Sen. Richard Gordon should lose weight because he feels dizzy when he sees him.

The president also criticized the “hairdo” of Sen. Ping Lacson.

The committee headed by Gordon is investigating the government’s purchase of billions worth of PPEs that are allegedly overpriced.

Gordon shunned Duterte’s criticism.

“Alam kong mahina ang taong nag-aatake nang personal… Alam ko pong mataba ako,” said Gordon.

Gordon asked in return, why is the President angry at the peek at the controversies when he is angry at corruption?

Gordon added that the President should not be angry if it takes 7 hours to question the Senate of former Budget Undersecretary Lloyd Christopher Lao for buying overpriced medical supplies.

“Mahina ang ulo mga in-appoint niya kung nalilito. Either mahina ‘yung ulo or talagang ginawa ‘yung kalokohan… Hindi ako magdadala ng taong makulay ang record. Wala pa nga ho akong sinasabi kay Michael Yang bakit umaaray na kayo?” said Gordon.

Lacson, Gordon answer Duterte’s insults

Lacson wonders what’s in his haircut that the President is insulting it.

“His insulting rebuke only shows that he and Sen. Bong Go are one and the same, for better or for worse, in sickness and in health. They even probably have a joint bank account,” said Lacson.

Despite the tensions between them, the Senate investigation will continue, Lacson said.

Meanwhile, the Senate ethics committee may investigate Go for hanging Lao, who was allegedly his former aide.

Go answered immediately.

“Nakikiusap po ako sa inyo, pagtulungan po natin, alamin po natin ang katotohanan at kasuhan natin ang may kasalanan… Sana naman po sa tamang pamamaraan, hindi sa bullying,” said Go.

Gordon plans to personally confront Lao and others who were issued subpoenas in the Senate blue ribbon committee at the September 7 hearing.
