Veronica “Kitty” Duterte, the youngest daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte and his common-law wife Honeylet Avanceña, celebrated her 18th birthday on Saturday night, April 9.
President Duterte’s family held an intimate but fancy celebration for the debut of her daughter Kitty at the Dusit Thani Grand Ballroom in Davao city.
In the photos shared by the festival attendees, the red and gold motifs of the gathering are striking. Debutant Kitty is also wearing the same color combination.
The video of the President dancing with Kitty Duterte to the accompaniment of music also went viral on Facebook.
Duterte’s former Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador “Sal” Panelo also offered the song “Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas” for Kitty.
Present at the gathering were the major godparents of the debutante, including former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, billionaire, and former senator Manny Villar, Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy, among others.
Class, work in Tacloban canceled due to Typhoon Agaton
Classes at all levels and jobs in public and private establishments in Tacloban City were canceled due to Tropical Storm Agaton.
According to Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez, there were minor landslides and floods due to heavy rains in some parts of the city.
He said clearing operations will continue in canals and other waterways to speed up the flow of floodwaters.
According to the latest PAGASA bulletin, Typhoon Agaton has weakened to a tropical depression.
It was last seen in the sea of Tanauan, Leyte at 8 am. It has a wind speed of 55 kilometers per hour and a gust of 75 kph.
Currently at Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal Number 1 are Eastern Samar, Samar, Northern Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, northeastern part of Cebu and eastern part of Bohol.
Today, moderate to heavy with at times intense rains will prevail over Sorsogon, Masbate, Romblon, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, the northern and central portions of Cebu including Bantayan and Camotes Islands, the northern portion of Negros Oriental, the northern portion of Negros Occidental, Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo, Antique, Guimaras.
There will be light to moderate with at times heavy rains over Dinagat Islands, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Quezon, and the rest of Bicol Region and Visayas.
