Authorities went to the dense area in Barangay Santa Lourdes on August 23 and found Galleno’s belongings and the skeleton there.

To confirm if the skeleton is really Galleno’s, it was subjected to a DNA test, and the result was confirmed on Tuesday.

Puerto Princesa City police spokesperson Police Captain Maria Victoria Iquin said that 99.9%. match the DNA sample taken from the skeleton and the swab sample from Galleno’s mother.

Last week, August 23, the skeleton and some belongings of Galleno were found in a dense area.

Following her abduction in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, the cousin of Jovelyn admitted raping and killing her, according to the local police.

Jovelyn Galleno’s relatives asserted that the underwear discovered with the bones was not hers.

They also doubted the presence of skeletal remains in light of Jovelyn’s short three-week disappearance.
