John Riel Casimero wants to face Japanese boxing champ Naoya Inoue, who beat his fellow Filipino Nonito Donaire.
With Inoue’s win over Donaire on Tuesday, the so-called “The Monster” already holds three world bantamweight belts- WBC, WBA, and IBF belts.
While Casimero has another belt for that weight division– the WBO.
“Tatlong belt na kay Naoya Inoue–WBC, IBF at WBA. Nandito sa akin yung WBO. Naoya Inoue, you’re a monster? No. You’re no monster, you’re Japanese turtle again!” Casimero seemed to challenge Inoue in his video post on Youtube.
“Walang ibang makakatalo kay Naoya [tanging ang] angas ng Pinas, batang Ormoc, John Riel Casimero,” he added.
Donaire lost in his rematch with Inoue held in Saitama, Japan, Tuesday. The fight lasted only two rounds after “The Filipino Flash” crashed.
But if then Casimero’s statements against Donaire were lofty, now he congratulates his compatriot and Inoue on the good fight between the two.
“Maganda ang laban. May mananalo talaga at may matatalo, ganun talaga yung boksing,” said Casimero.
“Ginawa naman ni Donaire yung best niya na manalo sa laban,” sambit pa niya. “Donaire sana ok ka lang diyan. ‘Wag kang mag-alala Donaire, babawi tayo. Lahat ng mga Filipino ipaglalaban natin yung nangyari kay Donaire. So abangan niyo guys.”

Casimero told Japanese boxer, “Naoya Inoue hopefully magkikita tayo.”
In 2020, Casimero, 33, announced that he could encounter Inoue but did not continue due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Casimero’s two fights against mandatory challenger Paul Butler did not go ahead. First was the result of him having viral gastritis on the day of the weigh-in, and second was he was violating the British Boxing Board of Control over his use of the sauna before the fight.
Due to his failure to defend the belt twice, the sanctioning body removed his belt.
In February, Casimero vehemently denied the allegation that he allegedly molested a minor.
The incident allegedly happened last year at a hotel, but only last February was the complaint filed against Casimero.
