Elections are really the reason why President Rodrigo Duterte is attacking Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso right now, according to a statement from the progressive Makabayan bloc in the House.
The militant representatives said this after Duterte threatened an unnamed “naked” Metro Manila mayor, who allegedly did not know how to organize the COVID-19 vaccination properly.
As a result, the mayor (who is suspected to be Domagoso due to his former sexy actor background) was threatened with a ban on distributing P1,000 lockdown aid starting today.
“It is disgraceful that President Duterte resorted to personal attacks against Mayor Isko not because the LGU chief has failed in his work, but because he is perceived by the president as a threat to his plan of having a Duterte Dynasty by 2022,” said Makabayan, Wednesday.
It is now rumored that presidential daughter Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio will run for the presidency in 2022 while the PDP-Laban party formally endorses Digong as vice president.
Duterte-Carpio is currently No. 1 in the 2022 presidential survey of Pulse Asia, while Isko Moreno was no. 2.
Isko Moreno a threat to Duterte dynasty: Makabayan
Domagoso first responded to allegations that Duterte was threatening him and said the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) even honored their city for the “efficient” and “quick completion” of the cash aid distribution of past lockdown.
“If there is a ‘mayor’ who is disorganized in its aid distribution and pandemic response, that is no one else but ‘[former Davao] Mayor Duterte’ himself. Isn’t it because of his leadership that the government failed to release more than Php10-billion cash aid under Bayanihan 1 and 2?” Makabayan added.
Meanwhile, Palace said they could not confirm whether Isko Moreno was the mayor in bikini Duterte is talking about.
“I cannot confirm that because I am not able to confirm it… Pero pictures cannot lie,” said Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque.
But netizens commented that Duterte is not able to preach against obscenity, especially since he has been criticized several times for his obscene acts and jokes against women.
