Isko Moreno leads RPMD presidential survey

Aksyon Demokratiko presidential aspirant and Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno led the presidential survey conducted by RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD) nationwide.

Based on survey data, Moreno got a total of 25.39 percent of the survey conducted from Oct. 17-26. Bongbong Marcos came in second with 23.10%, followed by Vice President Leni Robredo with 18.31%.

Moreno dominated the National Capital Region (NCR) with 30.53%, Visayas with 24.63%and Mindanao with 22.70%. Moreno missed out in Balance Luzon with 25.84% compared to Marcos’ lead with 30.33%.

According to the RPMD, up to 10,000 respondents to the survey answered the question: “Who would you vote for President if the election would be held today?”

The RPMD considers only serious candidates to be included in the list of candidates.

In the survey, Sen. Manny Pacquiao got 17.88%, Sen. Ping Lacson with 7.08%, Sen. Ronald Dela Rosa with 3.41% and Ernesto Abella with 0.81%.

Last Aug. 1-20. 2021 RPMD survey, Isko Moreno came in second with 14.21 percent, but led in NCR (22.31%) and third in Balance Luzon (15.51%), in Visayas (15.45%) and Mindanao (6%).

Angelito Banayo, the political strategist of Team Isko-Willie, said that the increase in Moreno’s survey is possibly due to his intention to reduce the oil and electricity tax by 50% if he wins the country’s presidency.

“Inilantad ni Mayor Isko ang kaniyang tax-cut plan sa pakikipag-pulong sa mga magsasaka sa Tarlac City noong October 21, na sakop ng survey period. Ang ibig sabihin nito ay matunog sa tao ang plano niya ‘pag siya ay naging presidente,” said Banayo.

“Ang pangunahing tema ng kampanya ni Isko Moreno at Doc Willie Ong, kasama ng kanilang mga kandidato sa Senado, ay magtrabaho para sa tao, kasama ng mga tao. Tao muna. Mabawasan ang hirap ng tao lalo na sa panahon ng pandemya at kawalan ng hanapbuhay. Buhay at Kabuhayan,” he added.

On October 15, Moreno went to Lipa, Batangas, where he got the support of the One Batangas Coalition led by Sen. Ralph Recto, who also told his countrymen that what Mayor Isko has done in Manila, he can also do nationwide.

Isko Moreno also went to Pampanga on October 28 and Nueva Vizcaya on October 30.
