Presidential candidate Isko Moreno has confirmed that his chief of staff, Cesar Chavez resigned from his post.
Moreno said his chief of staff resigned due to health reasons.
“Nagkaroon siya ng health reason, that’s one. Two, he has to attend to his family, so ayaw kong nagi-interfere kapag pamilya na eh, syempre kaya ka nga naghahanap buhay dahil sa pamilya mo eh, and I respect that,” Isko Moreno said.
(He encountered a health reason, that’s one. Two, he has to attend to his family, so I don’t want to interfere if it’s a family issue, because of course, the reason why you make a living is for your family, and I respect that.)
Isko Moreno also confirmed the withdrawal of broadcaster Noli de Castro from the senatorial race.
“Personal reason ‘yon, wala akong (That was a personal reason which I am not at) liberty to tell you, with due respect to Kabayan Noli de Castro, and I believe, and I support his decision because there is a personal reason behind it. And I am not in the liberty to tell the public to state that situation,” Moreno said Kapihan sa Manila Bay forum on Wednesday.
“We were informed yesterday […] Aksyon pa rin naman siya, kaya lang for personal reasons, hindi muna siya tutuloy. And we support that,” he added.

(We were informed yesterday that he is still with Aksyon Demokratiko, but he would forgo his candidacy for personal reasons. And we support that.)
According to De Castro, he decided to withdraw his candidacy for senator due to “change of plans.”
“Isinumite ko ang aking kandidatura sa Comelec noong Biyernes. Ngunit nagkaroon ng pagbabago ang aking plano,” De Castro said in a statement.
“Nais kong iparating sa lahat ng aking mga kaibigan at supporters na naghahanda na sanang tumulong sa akin, na nagpasiya akong hindi na ituloy ang aking kandidatura.”
(I submitted my candidacy to the Comelec last Friday. But there has been a change of plan. I wish to inform my friends and supporters who were preparing to help me that I have decided not to push through with my candidacy.)
