Intensified GCQ helps lower COVID-19 case in Laguna

The province of Laguna believes that their lockdown status of general community quarantine with heightened restrictions has greatly helped in reducing the number of COVID-19 cases in the area.

“More than a month na kaming GCQ pero with heightened restrictions. Maaaring nagiging effective itong pagbibigay ng GCQ with heightened restrictions,” said Rene Bagamasbad, Provincial Health Officer of Laguna.

In an interview with TeleRadyo, Bagamasbad said that the number of active cases in the province is already 3,161. Although there is the presence of earlier variants of COVID-19, such as the UK and South African variants, he said there is still no visible Delta variant, which is from India, in the province.

It is said that most of those who get sick only experience mild COVID-19.

So lahat ay either nandoon sa quarantine facility or nandoon sa bahay nila, doon sila naka-quarantine o naka-isolate,” he said.

It is said that some towns have recorded an increase in COVID-19 cases due to the movement of the people.

May mga nagtatrabaho sa NCR o within the province,” he said.
