Inday Sara not interested in Duterte becoming VP

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio is not interested in partnering with her father, President Rodrigo Duterte, for the 2022 presidential and vice-presidential elections.

This is what Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) secretary-general Anthony del Rosario said after the 2022 national elections survey release, which showed that there are more people in favor of the Duterte-Duterte tandem.

Del Rosario, a former Davao del Norte Governor and HNP spokesperson, said it had closed the door on the compound that got 28% support from the latest national elections survey of OCTA’s Tugon ng Masa 2022, which is very similar to the result of Pulse Asia. In mid-July with 23 % in favor of the Duterte-Carpio compound.

The HNP spokesperson insisted in an interview with DZRh local station that Sara had previously mentioned that she was not interested and did not see the Duterte-Duterte tandem.

The OCTA survey showed that former Senator Bongbong Marcos was second with 13%, followed by Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, 11%and fourth with Senators Grace Poe and Manny Pacquiao with 10%, while Vice Pres. Leni Robredo and Taguig-Pateros Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano is tied for 5th place.

In June, Davao City  Duterte insisted that the  tandem is still unlikely in Eleksyon 2022.

 has said ‘the presidency is not a woman’s job,’ particularly not for me,” Sara said in a mix of Cebuano and English.

“If he will run for vice president, let’s not expect that he will get me to run for president,”  added.

Meanwhile, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian admitted in an interview with ANC “Headstart” this morning that he wants to partner with the ’s daughter, Davao City  Sara Duterte.

“I talked to Mayor Sara a few months back. And we talked about my plans,” he said.

“I’m vying for the vice president position, but this is still very fluid.”

The daughter of  is still tight-lipped and has not confirmed her plan to run for president next year.
