Iglesia ni Cristo endorses BBM, Sara Duterte for Eleksyon 2022

The Iglesia ni Cristo has declared its support for presidential candidate Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

The religious group, whose endorsement is one of the most sought after in Philippine elections, has also expressed its support for the Senate campaigns of the following candidates:

The announcement was broadcast on Net 25 of the Iglesia ni Cristo.

“Ako po at ang aking pamilya, sampu ng buong alyansang nakapaloob sa Uniteam ay labis na nagagalak at buong pusong nagpapasalamat sa suportang inihayag ng kapatirang Iglesia Ni Cristo sa pangunguna ng inyong tagapamahalang pangkalahatan kapatid Eduardo V. Manalo,” BBM said.

“Sisikapin po namin na ang tiwalang pinagkaloob ninyo sa aming tambalan ay magbubunga ng tunay na pagkakaisa ng mga Pilipinong nagmamahal sa Pilipinas at walang alinlangan na sama-samang haharap sa mga pagsubok na dadaanan sa paghahanda ng magandang bukas para sa ating mga kabataan,” he added.

According to Sara Duterte, the support comes with the responsibility of uniting the people and overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Ang pagpili sa amin ni apo Bongbong Marcos bilang mga kandidato na inyong sinusuportahan sa pagkapresidente at bise presidente sa darating na halalan ay isang malaking karangalan na may kaakibat na hamon na nakatuon sa aming kakayahan mapag-isa ang bansa at mapagbuklod ang mga Pilipino at maitawid ang sambayanan sa krisis na dulot ng pandemya,” Duterte said.

The BBM-Sara Duterte campaign is coming to a close this week, with big rallies planned in Guimbal, Iloilo; Tagum, Davao del Norte; and Paranaque City.

INC endorsed then-Davao mayor Rodrigo Duterte for president in 2016 and Marcos for vice president the following year. However, Marcos lost to Vice President Leni Robredo, while Duterte triumphed.

Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III and Mar Roxas were backed by INC in 2010. Aquino was victorious, while Roxas was defeated by Jejomar Binay.

INC is proud to have endorsed candidates who have gone on to win. Prior to Aquino, the INC endorsed Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and Joseph Estrada.
