Hidilyn Diaz gets lifetime free flights from Air Asia, Philippine Airlines

Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz received lifetime free flights from flag carriers Air Asia and Philippine Airlines.

Amidst challenges and struggles as we go forth with recovery, Hidilyn reminds us that no matter how heavy the weight we are carrying, inner strength, perseverance, and a heart of gold will help us power through,” said AirAsia Group chief executive officer Tony Fernandes.

AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricky Isla also said the weightlifting queen is an inspiration to the Filipino people.

“Hidilyn is the perfect example of what it means to be an Allstar, by embodying AirAsia core values of ‘Dreaming Big and Making it Happen.’ We thank her for reminding us that being the world’s best is second to serving the Filipinos. Aside from lifetime free flights from Air Asia and Philippine airlines, Hidilyn Diaz a P14-million residential condominium unit in Eastwood City.

Hidilyn Diaz will receive a total of P35.5 million plus a Tagaytay City house and lot.

Under the law, Diaz will receive P10 million from the government.  V. Pangilinan will also give her another P10 million.

Millionaire Ramon S. Ang will also give Diaz P10 million, while deputy speaker Mikee Romero will give her an additional P 3 million.

Meanwhile, the weightlifter will get P2.5 million from her hometown Zamboanga City also by law.

Dennis Uy’s Phoenix Petroleum also gave P5 million pesos to Diaz.

Pinay weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz won the Philippines’ first gold medal at the Olympics after winning the ’s 55-kg weightlifting event at the 2020  on Monday held at the Tokyo International Forum in Japan.

This is the first gold medal of the Philippines since competing in the Olympics in 1924.
