Harry Roque runs for senator

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque announced he will run for senator in the 2022 elections with the endorsement of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.

Roque said he wants the country to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, “Iyan naman po ang dahilan kung bakit babalik tayo sa larangan ng pulitika.”

Nais ko pong maging action man sa Senado,” he said.

Roque earlier declared he would only run for senator if Duterte-Carpio would run for president. The presidential daughter filed her candidacy for vice president last week.

At the end of Roque’s press briefing, Sara Duterte in a video message endorsed his Senate run.
