Hamas to be declared terrorist in the Philippines – NSC

Prompted by the bloody attack on Israel, National Security Adviser Secretary Eduardo Año announced that the Anti-Terrorism Council would promote the declaration of Hamas as a terrorist group in the Philippines.

According to Año, Hamas committed inhumane and violent acts in Israel, where many innocent people suffered.

At the last report, the death toll reached 1,200, including three Filipinos. About 3,000 were wounded.

“In solidarity with the people of Israel, we will push for the designation of Hamas as a terrorist organization under RA 11479 as a priority agenda of the Anti-Terrorism Council,” said Año.

It condemned the attack by Hamas as a “deadly and barbaric terrorist assault” on Israel.

Año hopes that the mess will end soon and that other civilians will be saved while praying for the nation of Israel.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declared the Philippines joins Israel in condemning the Hamas attack.

Despite this, Palestine Ambassador to the Philippines Saleh Mohammad said that the countries’ leaders that expressed support for Israel gave the “wrong message” to the said country, resulting in the “massacre” in the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, another Filipino was killed in an attack by the militant group Hamas in the Gaza Strip in Israel.

This was confirmed yesterday at a news conference in Malacanang by Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega.

The victim was identified as Loreta “Lorei” Alacre, 49, a caregiver and a native of Negros Occidental. It is said that Alacre’s lips underwent a DNA test.

Alacre was last seen, according to her employer Noam Solomon, on Saturday morning between Netivot and Ashkelon in the Southern District of Israel, where Hamas carried out an attack.

The victim, Solomon’s caregiver for six years, was allegedly shot in the back.

Because of this, the death toll has risen to three Filipinos.

De Vega said that the Philippine embassy is in contact with the victim’s sister, who is now in Kuwait, to arrange the repatriation of her body to the Philippines.

De Vega also reported that three more Filipinos are missing and are still being sought. He hopes the three Filipinos only hide in bunkers or bomb shelters.

A 42-year-old man from Pampanga and a 33-year-old woman from Pangasinan were killed in the conflict in Israel.
