Gunman in Nueva Ecija bus shooting names victim’s son as mastermind

In the fatal shooting of a couple inside a bus in Caranglan, Nueva Ecija, an alleged gunman named Allan delos Santos has implicated the son of the female victim as the mastermind.

Delos Santos made this statement to authorities following his arrest in Dilasag town in Aurora. The incident is currently under investigation, and the unfolding details suggest a complex and potentially orchestrated crime.

The police reportedly recovered a camouflage uniform from Allan delos Santos, which he allegedly wore during the shooting incident. Delos Santos is said to be a member of a gun-for-hire group, adding a concerning dimension to the case.

The discovery of the uniform and his alleged affiliation with such a group may provide additional evidence for the ongoing investigation into the shooting in Caranglan, Nueva Ecija.

“Base sa nagbigay ng extrajudicial confession, inamin niya na ang pagpatay ay napagplanuhan noong September. Nagbigay ng initial payment base sa pag-uusap nila noong September,” said Police Colonel Richard Caballero, director of the Nueva Ecija provincial police.

Delos Santos admitted that the mastermind paid him and his accomplice P60,000 each for the crime, according to statements from the authorities. The alleged mastermind is currently facing parricide charges.

“With regard doon sa anak, lumalabas na in-implicate siya doon sa case, ‘yung motibo na tinignan natin, initially nu’ng nag-start tayo ng investigation, ‘yung filing ng robbery at carnapping ng victim na babae sa sarili niyang anak,” said Caballero.

In a previous interview on November 25, the alleged mastermind denied involvement in the shooting and appealed to the public to stop implicating him. However, the video of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing the gunmen shooting the victims in the head and neck at close range.

The victims, a 60-year-old female from Cauayan, Isabela, and a 55-year-old male from South Cotabato, were identified in the incident. The video evidence and the suspects’ statements may play a crucial role in the investigation and subsequent legal proceedings.
